  1. Mediation

We facilitated a successful mediation for a leading family-owned business, helping its members avoid internal conflict and align on key governance issues. This process laid the groundwork for the drafting of family governance structures.

Our mediation practice also spans sensitive disputes in labour and child matters, as well as contentious land disputes, where we guide parties toward amicable and enforceable settlements.

2. Arbitration

We represented a claimant in a landmark intellectual property arbitration valued at KES 3 billion. The case involved the protection of proprietary systems and was successfully resolved in our client’s favour.

Our team has also handled numerous arbitration claims for supply companies, offering end-to-end support from contract enforcement to final award.

3. Litigation

Constitutional Petitions

We have a strong track record in constitutional litigation. We represented an individual whose rights to health, dignity, and non-discrimination were violated, leading to mental anguish and depression. We brought the petition to enforce these fundamental rights.

In another high-stakes matter, we defended a petitioner who had been unlawfully and maliciously detained in a psychiatric facility at the behest of his business partners—despite being of sound mind. We challenged the violation of his right to liberty and due process.

Labour & Civil Awards

  • Award Against Applicant (2021) – We acted for the respondent, the University of Embu, in a wrongful termination claim by an IT officer. The court dismissed the KES 350,000 claim, finding no basis for compensation and awarding costs to our client.

  • Award Against Applicant (2023) – Represented respondents in a labour dispute valued at KES 343,000. The court found the claim to be unmerited and dismissed it substantially.

Successful Awards for Applicants

  • Land Fraud (2019) – Our client secured a KES 25 million award after we successfully challenged a fraudulent land title. The court cancelled the forged title and issued a new one in our client’s name.

  • Wrongful Termination & Defamation (2021) – We obtained a KES 10 million award for a claimant dismissed from employment, including KES 5 million for defamation and exemplary damages.

  • Intellectual Property Arbitration (2019) – Represented a claimant in a KES 3 billion intellectual property dispute against KRA involving a GIS system. The arbitration concluded in our client’s favour.

  • Dual Citizenship Petition (2023) – In a landmark constitutional claim against the Cabinet Secretary for Interior, the court granted an order of mandamus compelling the issuance of a certificate of dual citizenship.

  • Specific Performance (2022) – Acted for a plaintiff in a land transfer case. The court ordered the defendant to transfer the property valued at KES 12 million to our client.
